Animal Jam Potions 101

Heya Jammers! Aster here, with that potion guide I promised ya! This article is a followup to my Phantom Dimension Survival Guide. There, I talk about how you can get potions from the stores in that dimension. If you don’t have any potions, I recommend checking that one out first. Or alternatively, you can just trade or buy potions from other jammers.

Managing Potions:

So you may be wondering: once you have a potion, how do you use them? Well, they can be activated by tapping on your animal icon in the bottom left, then going over to the potion tab (next to saved outfits). Activating a potion will remove it from your inventory, like a consumable item.

Potions can be canceled by clicking on them while ingame. They appear on the left side. Once clicked, just hit the trashcan icon!

It’s worth noting that when logged off, the timer on the effect will pause. As soon as you log on again, the timer will resume. Alright, onto the list of potions.

Tier 1 Potions:

Tier one potions can be bought for phantom tokens at the starting area of the phantom dimension. For more information on the phantom dimension, check out that guide!

Speed Potion - 600 Tokens

While you would think that this potion increases your movement speed by a noticeable amount, it does not. Lasting sixty minutes, the speed potion seemingly just makes all of your animations play quicker. This includes things like walking, standing still, dancing, hopping, etc. Overall, I think this potion is a waste of your time and tokens outside of very niche situations. No wonder it’s the cheapest.

Glow Potion - 1,000 Tokens

The glow potion causes your animal’s colors to shift to create a glowing effect. Your colors will become darker than normal, and then brighter than normal, in a cycle that lasts for sixty minutes. The effect is noticeable even in bright areas. It looks cool, and I especially appreciate how it does not seem to affect the color black. Though, it seems that changing your animal’s colors at all will cancel the effects.

Den Flower Potion - 1,200 Tokens

This potion adds a falling flower weather effect to your den for 120 minutes. It also increases the brightness of the entire room. Den weather potions cannot stack with other den weather potions.

Den Rain Potion - 1,200 Tokens

This potion adds a rainfall weather effect to your den for 120 minutes. It also decreases the brightness of the entire room. Den weather potions cannot stack with other den weather potions.

Den Snow Potion - 1,200 Tokens

This potion adds a snowfall weather effect to your den for 120 minutes. It also decreases the brightness of the entire room. Den weather potions cannot stack with other den weather potions.

Overall, I actually really like the den weather potions. They can be used well in roleplays or just to set the mood of a den. Definitely pick some up.

Shrink Potion - 2,000 Tokens

The shrink potion will reduce the size of your animal to be just a bit larger than your pet. At first, this wouldn’t seem like it would have any practical use. While it does look cool, you’re actually able to use it to get into a secret room in Appondale. I think for that alone, it’s worth the money. I’ll cover the Tiny Shop in just a bit!

Become Your Pet Potion - 3,000 Tokens

This potion mimics the effect of the Play as Your Pet Party, allowing you to walk around as your pet. In this form, you can still play the game as normal. The only difference I noticed was that when going to accessorize your animal, it takes you straight to the pet dress-up menu instead. This is a fun one, so I recommend grabbing one or two to keep on hand.

This potion is not compatible with most other transformation potions, like glowing or shrinking.

Tier 2 Potions:

Tier two potions can be bought for phantom tokens in endgame areas of the phantom dimension. There isn’t a set spot for this salesman. For more information, please check out the phantom dimension guide!

Disco Potion - 400 Tokens

The disco potion summons a floating disco ball over your head. It has a few light effects, but… eh. I’m not into it personally. It also only lasts 30 minutes for some reason.

Double Payout Potion - 500 Tokens

If you’re strapped for cash, here’s the potion for you. The double payout potion multiplies all gems earned in games by two. It also stacks with the membership x2 gems bonus, so you’d get x4 gems with both membership and the potion applied. I’m so thankful these exist.

Rainbow Trail Potion - 800 Tokens

This potion allows you to leave a trail of rainbow on the ground behind you. It lasts for an hour. Pretty self explanatory, but fun.

Super Sapphire Potion - 3,500 Tokens

Here’s the big one. The super sapphire potion drops a giant sapphire into the room you’re standing in. Any players in the room at the time you activate the potion will also see the giant sapphire. Everyone that clicks on it gets 3 sapphires, including yourself! These potions are highly sought after, and I definitely recommend you pick some up.

Tiny Shop

In Appondale, you may have noticed a tiny door in the tree that houses Claws n’ Paws. That’s the Tiny Shop! Using a shrink potion on yourself will allow you to go inside. It’s a neat hangout spot, but also sells some exclusive tiny items. These items will look really small on your animal, no matter the size.

While I don’t have a picture of it, you can cancel the effect of the shrink potion in the tiny shop. You’ll remain inside, but just look massive next to any shrunken animals.

Potion Stacking

If you would like to have multiple potions active at once, you can do that! In this clip, I have a shrink, rainbow, glow, disco, den rain, speed, and double payout potion all active at once.

Conclusion

Thank you for reading my potion guide! I hope it was helpful to you. Stay wild out there, Jammers!
