Are you an Animal Jam Classic player starting AJ-Play Wild? Or an AJ-Play Wild player confused by Alpha Items? Either way, this guide is for you! We’re going to cover what Alpha Items are,and how to get some.
Alpha Items are exclusive items discoverable in game. They have a limit to the amount that can exist that is set by AJHQ. When learning about Alpha Items our first stop will be Kimbara Outback. There you can click on a wooden board which will lead you to the Alpha Item explorer. The Alpha Item explorer is really useful because you can see every Alpha Item. If an Item is grayed out, it is no longer discoverable, otherwise you can see how many more are available to be found on each item. Additionally you can click on an item you like and see who owns it if you want to try and trade for one. Finally, there is an “owned by me” slider so you can see your own Alpha Items, and choose if you want your username displayed next to the item or not.
Okay, now we know what Alpha Items are and how to see which ones are findable, but how can you find them? There are a ton of different ways to find Alpha Items. They can be found by fighting Phantoms, hunting for nocturnals, golden snowflakes, sending pets on expeditions, the daily spin, shovels, and from pack runs. Alpha Items are really nice because you can get very rare and exclusive items just from playing the game, no trading or giveaways necessary. Here are the specifics on some of the methods.
How to get alpha items from phantoms:
Phantom Howl potions can summon Phantoms, they can be defeated with a Paintseed Launcher and paintseeds. It takes a lot of Phantoms before you get an Alpha Item from one, but you can get many other prizes along the way.
How to get alpha items from nocturnals:
If you follow the day/night cycle on Animal Jam then you will know that nighttime lasts 3 hours. During these 3 hours you can be looking for nocturnal animals like moths, centipedes, and bats. Grab some buddies and head to an open land like Appondale, best of luck!
How to get Alpha items from pet expeditions:
When you send pets on 5-day expeditions or jewel-tier expeditions you have a chance of getting an alpha item as a prize. We recommend sending pets to locations they like (they’ll show the heart eyes emoji) for a higher chance of getting back an alpha item
Getting alpha items from shovels:
If you’ve spent some time on Animal Jam then you’ve probably noticed the golden shovels popping up everywhere. If you click on one there’s a very small chance of being able to dig up an Alpha Chest. Alpha Chests can be opened in your den to get a random Alpha Item.
Other ways to get alpha items:
There are even more ways to get Alpha Items, you can even get Alpha Items from the Daily Spin if you’re lucky.
