Minigame Pairs- WEEK TWO

Hi, Jammers! Today I’m here with week two of Minigame Pairs, the series in which I guide you on AJ Classic minigames. The lovely minigames I’ll be writing about today are Gem Breaker and Spider Zapper. Now without further ado, let’s get into the guides!

Gem Breaker

Gem Breaker is a game in which you group gems in order to break them. Phantoms are stuck inside the groups of gems, and it’s your job to knock them down. The game seems quite simple at first, but the more levels you complete, the more it can be quite difficult.

  1. Grouping- find a spot where a bunch of gems are grouped together and aim your gem to that spot. If that spot is not accessible, aim to a spot that isn’t crowded with other gems and start a new pile there.

  2. Acknowledge phantoms- Your main goal in Gem Breaker is to release the phantoms from the gems. In order to do so, you must group your gems in a way so that they are touching the phantom / above the phantom. Once three or more gems are grouped, that group will disappear. If you notice a grouping opportunity above or around a phantom, aim your gem there. Remember, your main priority is releasing the phantoms!

  3. DON’T ever group your gems in an un-orderly fashion. Make sure that if you’re going to aim a gem, aim it so that it is touching a group. If there are no accessible groups, start your own group and commit to it. Don’t pile on gems so that gems of the same color are far apart.

Spider Zapper

Spider Zapper is a rather tricky minigame that puts your reflexes and clicking speed to the test. Much like Gem Breaker, the levels get progressively more difficult. Although, I do have a couple tricks you can use while playing.

  1. Spam-click your screen. This trick is aimed more towards the more difficult levels, but it's quite a helpful one nonetheless. If you’re overwhelmed by the amount of spiders on your screen, just click around! By clicking super quickly around the screen, you're almost guaranteed to catch a spider.

  2. Controlled clicking- If you see spiders heading in a certain direction, you can spam-click in a spot that the spider will soon be in. If you have trouble following the spider with your mouse, you can just click in one spot to make things a bit easier for you. I use this trick every time I play!
