Is Leilani Scamming Your Rares?

Hey Jammers! Yum here, today I’m going to talk a bit about Leilani and her items. Are her items worth investing your rares in? Or is Leilani taking your rarity? You’re about to find out in our latest AJPW article!

When Leilani came to Animal Jam Play Wild, Jammers were delighted with the new rare items. But when Leilani started asking for super rare items for her simple rares, everyone began to hesitate in their trading decisions. Is making that trade a good idea?

Let’s take the Rare Wind-Up Key for example. On November 13, 2019, the Rare Wind-Up key could be obtained through a Leilani tradeーand from her only. Leilani requested that a Jammer trade any DJ Headset for her item. Commonly known as ‘DJ,’ these musical headpieces are rare and very demanded items. Once a trade is complete with Leilani, your items cannot be returned. There’s no telling what becomes of the item once you trade for it. Some Jammers completed this trade with Leilani, so let’s see what that item is worth now.

According to the Play Wild Item Worth Wiki, the Rare Wind-Up Key is worth a white Rare Bowtie with a decent item added to the trade. A White Bowtie is worth considerably more than any DJ Headset. As I said before, any DJ Headset could be used to make the trade. Unless you traded one of the rarest DJ Headsets for the Wind-Up Key, you gained some rarity in your trade! Say you did trade the rarest DJ Headset. Then you may not have gained anything at all. It depends on who’s trading you for your Wind-Up Key!

Some items, however, were not very appealing to Jammers. This includes the Rare Bunny Ears. Although not that many Jammers have this item, that doesn’t make it rareーwhether the Wind-Up Key was traded or not. The Rare Bunny Ears that Leilani was trading are very similar looking to the Rare Item Monday Bunny Ears. Unless looking at the two pairs of ears side by side, Jammers may be skeptical about the item. It’s natural not to want to be scammed, so people generally avoid items that have similar, less rare variants.

The Leilani Bunny Ears are worth a decent Archer Hat, with a small add to the trade. While Archer Hats are rare items, they are worth considerably less than certain Wind-Up Keys. A decent Archer Hat can be traded for a Wind-Up Key with the large add of a Mystical or Blackout Spiked Collar. This means that the Jammers who made this trade with Leilani lost about a Mystical or Blackout Spiked Collar worth from this trade.

There’s no way any Jammer could have predicted the future worth of these items, and things like both of the examples may happen again, just no telling when. You can never tell if items may suddenly become ‘in demand’ later down the road.

My advice is this: Only trade your items for the items that you love. If you someday want to get rid of it, that’s up to you. But I wouldn’t recommend only trading Leilani to gain rares (you may lose some in the process). The decision is up to you, but remember, if you later decide you want one, you can always trade for an old Leilani item. Be sure to stay informed so you don’t get scammed by Leilani other Jammers!

Jam On!
